Commemorative banknote with Emperor Charles I.
The Czech-Austrian peace movement of Charles I issued a commemorative banknote in March 2021. The banknote is dedicated to the honor and glory of Svatý Hostýn. It is the first banknote since the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, on which Emperor Francis Joseph I and his nephew and the last Czech King Blessed Charles I appear.
Svatý Hostýn is an important place of pilgrimage in the Moravian part of the Czech Republic. Emperor Francis Joseph I personally visited this place in 1897. The emperor was a symbol of exemplary piety, and his nephew and last Czech King Charles I was declared blessed by the pope in 2004.
The author of the banknote design and its implementer is PhDr. Martin Herzán.
600 commemorative banknotes were issued. It is printed on banknote security paper. This paper contains a watermark and protective fibers that respond to infrared light. The banknote also has a hologram that creates a colored shape of the globe at a certain angle of light. Another security feature is the numbering of banknotes, which each banknote has different.
We are honored to present this commemorative banknote.
